Popis: Citrobacter spp. is commensal inhabitants of the intestinal tract of animals & humans (Bae et al., 2010). They are opportunistic pathogens related with a diversity of infections consisting of urinary tract infections (UTIs), gastroenteritis, pneumonia, wound infections, septicaemia, endocarditis, intracranial abscesses and meningitis especially in neonates and immune compromised hosts. Citrobacter freundii is found to be the common Citrobacter species causing infections (Liu et al., 2017; Bai et al., 2012).
