Popis: | The microsomal fraction from rabbit lymph node and thymus cells contains endogenous DNA polymerase activity that is inhibited by ribonuclease. The template for the endogenous reaction was shown to be DNA and the enzyme has the general characteristics of cellular DNA dependent DNA polymerase. The ribonuclease inhibition of the reaction was found to be due to a polypeptide inhibitor of the DNA polymerase enzyme. This inhibitor is in turn inhibited by RNA and becomes active when RNA is destroyed by ribonuclease or micrococcal nuclease. |
