The injection of functionalized carbon nanoparticle suspension together with ascorbic acid solution yields an increase of the oxidation current in Flow Injection Analysis system with electrochemical walljet detection. This behavior results from electrocatalytic properties of used nanoparticles towards ascorbic acid. The effect of various parameters such as: electrode potential, flow rate, mixing system as well as ascorbic acid and electrolyte concentration was studied to optimize the ratio of the current recorded at indium tin dioxide electrode in the presence and absence of nanoparticles. 0.1–10 mg mL−1 carbon nanoparticles in the injected sample can be detected and repeatable results were obtained.
