The Covid-19 lockdown made higher education institutions move assessments from face-to-face to online platforms. This change affected lecturers, institutions and students significantly. The severity of impact was higher in the low-resourced universities with unreliable infrastructure, limited resources and unclear policies. To understand such impacts, the lived experiences of management faculties at Pokhara University were explored using group interviews. Then, the interview data were transcribed, translated and analysed. The findings reveal that the assessment process was provoking for lecturers, but the student grades and written works had substantial improvement. This understanding has raised questions about the reliability of online assessments and the prospects of teaching in the virtual environment. For the teaching, learning and assessment strategies, similar studies with more academics and students are recommended. |
