Popis: | We would like to thank Professor Coustan for his interest in, and comments on, our recent paper in Acta Diabetologica examining the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance in women with previous gestational diabetes (GDM), as defined by International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) criteria [1, 2]. As Professor Coustan has pointed out, this cohort does indeed contain both women meeting IADPSG criteria and women meeting World Health Organization (WHO) 1999 criteria for the diagnosis of gestational diabetes.
