Popis: | Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the endometrium (PSCCE) is an exceedingly rare tumour, and according to the 5th edition of the WHO classification, it constitutes less than 5% of all endometrial carcinomas.1 The diagnosis of PSCCE must include criteria estab - lished by Fluhman in 1928, according to which it is necessary to ex- clude endometroid adenocarcinoma with squamous differentiation, as well as cervical squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) with endometrial spreading.2 Furthermore, there must be no connection between the endometrial tumour and cervical squamous epithelium. Here we present a case of PSCCE with cytological and immunocytological characteristics in specimens from endometrial aspirate, Pap smears, and peritoneal washing. |
