Popis: Sandwich panels have been used for sporting goods to aerospace components. The new guidelines in engineering designs, whenever possible, have driven towards sustainable and biodegradable materials, minimising disposal costs and environmental impact. This work describes the physical and mechanical properties of sandwich panels made of aluminium skins, circular honeycomb core with bamboo rings and castor-biobased adhesive. Bamboo rings are placed side by side with a gap in order to make the panels lighter, aiming to obtain higher specific mechanical properties and reduce manufacturing costs.
