Popis: | Peckia (Squamatodes) ingens (Walker, 1849) (Figs 1–2, 105–110) Description of female terminalia. Posterior margin of T5 elliptical, brown, with golden microtrichosity dorsally and silver microtrichosity laterally (Figs 108–110). T6 undivided, well developed, bright orange, with golden microtrichosity restricted to anterior margin, covered with setulae and with a row of robust setae near posterior margin. Spiracles 6 and 7 located on T6. T8 absent (Figs 105, 108). Epiproct represented by some long and stout setae on membrane, close to cerci. Cercus covered with setae, with short setae along posterior margin. Hypoproct triangular, with long setae (Fig. 106). ST6 reduced, square, with setae near posterior margin. ST7 reduced, square, with lateral and posterior margins membranous and one pair of setae on terminal portion of sclerotized region. ST8 U-shaped, without setae (Fig. 105). Spermathecae rounded, with tiny rounded furrows (Fig. 107). Material examined. BRAZIL. Acre: Rio Branco, 25.X–8.XI.1991, upland forest, Malaise trap, leg. A. Henriques, I.S. Gorayeb & N. Pimentel (1 ♂, MPEG); Serra Norte, Manganês, 12–13.IX.1985, Malaise trap, leg. M.F. Torres (1 ♂, MPEG). Distribution in Brazil. Acre *, Amapá, Amazonas, Ceará, Distrito Federal, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, São Paulo. Remarks. The female terminalia of P. (S.) ingens are similar to those of P. (S.) trivittata in having T6 bright orange, undivided, well developed and projected posteriorly; spiracle 6 located on T6; ST6, ST7 and ST8 reduced; and spermathecae with tiny furrows (Figs 105, 107–108, 111, 113–114). Peckia (S.) ingens differs from P. (S.) trivittata by the golden microtrichosity on the abdomen, T6 with golden microtrichosity along anterior margin and ST6 square (Figs 105, 109–110, 111, 115–116). In P. (S.) trivittata the abdomen has gray microtrichosity, T6 has silver microtrichosity on the anterior margin, and ST6 is rectangular. This species is frequently collected in forests of the Brazilian Amazon using traps baited with dead animals. The above record from Acre is a new state record.
