Popis: | Focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver is a rare benign tumor usually found incidentally as an asymptomatic mass in young women. It is often confused with other lesions, particularly with hepatic cell adenoma. Differential diagnosis of these tumors is very important for their proper management. FNH is usually hypervascular and contains functioning Kupffer cells. The presence of Kupffer cells within the lesion can best be evaluated by SPECT and by comparing Tc-99m SC activity in the lesion to its activity in bone marrow. A young woman with right upper quadrant discomfort was evaluated by dynamic and SPECT using Tc-99m SC |
