Popis: | A fuel cell stack had been developed in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), originally for automotive drive. Within this project the system has been adapted for the use in a stationary application. In order to meet the voltage levels of the inverter of the Uninterruptible Power Supply System (UPS), a center tap has been added in the middle of the stack. This configuration has been tested successfully in the laboratory. However, the reliability of the overall system was not sufficient for a UPS application. After three series of lab testing and a fundamental change of system architecture it has been decided to discontinue the project since the inverter technology as well as the fuel cell system are not state of the art anymore.
