Popis: A CO laser has been used in combination with photoacoustic detection to monitor traces gases emitted from individual pieces of fruit under changing conditions. Ethanol and acetaldehyde have been detected as indicators of fermentation, ethylene for ripening and ethane for lipid peroxidation during deterioration of cell membranes.
