Popis: Pear psylla, Cacopsylla pyricola Foerster, adults that had contacted substrates treated with the insect growth regulators fenoxycarb or pyriproxyfen were allowed to oviposit on untreated plants. Eggs from treated insects had a reduction in hatch for up to 2 wk after treatment. The reduction was dependent on duration of contact with the treated surface. A pyriproxyfen-impregnated yellow tape has been developed and may assist in an attract-and-sterilize approach to management of pear psylla. Contact durations of as little as 5 s with this product reduced egg hatch in psylla for 1 wk after exposure.
