| Popis: | Additional information was obtained on U/sub 3/Si radiation effects and corrosion properties in water. The use of an barrier layer between U/sup 3/Si and Zr prevented the formation of ZrSi intendiffusion layers, but introduced a brittie UAl/sub 3/compound. Fission gas emanation from UO/sub 2/ in-pile specimens was reduced ten-fold by increasing its density from 92 to 96.5% of theoretical. (D.E.B.) |
