Popis: The wireless smart utility network (Wi-SUN) is one of the candidates of the wireless network part of the M2M and IoT systems. The resource limited monitoring and management (RLMM) is the profile of the Wi-SUN for non-Internet protocol (IP)-based low-power networks in environments where the power supply cannot be easily secured (e.g., agriculture, forestry and livestock fields, and structure monitoring). To realize the RLMM systems, IEEE 802.15.10-based layer 2 mesh routing protocol and IEEE 802.15.4e-based low-power media access control (MAC) protocol have been actively studied. The coordinated sampled listening (CSL) is one of the IEEE 802.15.4e-based MAC protocols, and its performance have been evaluated theoretically and by computer simulations. However, the conventional theoretical analysis does not take the frame structure of IEEE 802.15.4e into account. Therefore, the conventional theoretical results of success rate are in poor agreement with simulation results in the area where communication frequency is high. In this paper, we propose a new theoretical analysis for the CSL protocol considering the IEEE 802.15.4e frame structure. The high accuracy and practicality of the proposed theoretical analysis is demonstrated by comparing with the computer simulation results.
