A wideband bidirectional monkey face antenna for liquid level sensing

Popis: A compact wideband monopole monkey face shaped antenna with a coplanar feed and ground loading is proposed for level sensing in an oil storage tank. The proposed antenna offers a wide impedance bandwidth from 200 MHz to 4000 MHz and beyond. The radiator design has been developed based on a conventional circular disc monopole by adding two circular sections to the right and left sides to increase the bandwidth especially at lower frequencies. In addition, the radiator is surrounded by straight and curved ground elements to obtain a stable bi-directional radiation pattern over the entire bandwidth.
