Local seismicity pattern around Mt. Pandan, East Java according to February 2016 earthquake swarms activity

Popis: We use Match and Locate (M&L) method to obtain local seismicity pattern around Mt. Pandan, East Java. This method uses waveform cross-correlation seismic signal technique. We apply M&L method to re-identify 16 days earthquake swarms which were reported from Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency of Indonesia (BMKG) that occurred on February 2016 around Mt. Pandan area. We employ 25 earthquake swarms as event template and utilize 20 days continuous waveform from 8 broadband seismic stations of BMKG. We successfully re-identify 1,625 earthquake swarms include 76 event that listed in the BMKG catalog during 11th to 29th February 2016. Of the events that we detected, 331 events (20%) have magnitude smaller than MLv 1.51. These earthquake swarms are further classified into two different temporal evolution phase and the swarms sequence distribution show a ∼87 km NNE-SSW lineation. We interpret that this pattern represents a sub-surface fault that extends along this study area.
