Popis: A symmetric sparse array (SSA), recursively generated, followed by Cantor set is analyzed for direction finding. Like Many Sparse Arrays with non-uniform spacing, it detect more uncorrelated sources i.e. Degree Of Freedom (DOF). The properties such as maximally economic, hole-free, systematic and symmetric array configuration attract the use of this sparse array in some practical implementation. This paper analyzes the DOA estimation performances using this SSA both in ideal and non-idealities conditions. Various numerical simulations demonstrate better performance of SSA with reduced mutual coupling effect.
