Popis: | Efficient midinfrared electro‐optical effects based on intersubband transitions in doped double quantum wells are demonstrated. The system is based on field‐induced perturbations of the wave functions associated with the excited and interacting sublevels of an asymmetric coupled quantum well structure. Like for interband modulation, the absorption and the refractive index changes are reported to be very sensitive to a dc bias voltage applied on the structure. |
