Popis: | Venepunctures in neonates and senior citizens is challenging for phlebotomists. Large range of expensive infrared light based products are available which involve complex algorithms to project the vein pattern on the skin but do not provide depth information. Other vein devices use red light for such vein visual enhancement where eye sensitivity is low. We optimized the visual response as well as both oxy-, deoxy- haemoglobin absorption to achieve better performance. The designed prototype for vein vizualisation uses light emitting diodes that provide visual contrast through diffuse light for the vein against the background tissue by relying on selective absorption. |
