Popis: | In cyclic magnetic fields with an amplitude of up to 8 T, the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and thermal expansion in the Ni46Mn41In13 Heusler alloy are investigated. The magnetic and structural contributions to the total entropy change are estimated, and it was found that the magnetic contribution is dominant and the contributions have different signs (ΔSm = 12.19 J/kg K, ΔSstr = −1.05 J/kg K). In weak magnetic fields, the values of the MCE in heating and cooling runs differ greatly, which is associated with an unequal response of the structurally and magnetically inhomogeneous system to the influence of a magnetic field. |
