This study aims to test the role of social identities and meal names on food choices as well as satisfaction with having to change food choices. This first online experiment will include two food choice task. First an open choice task and second a restricted choice task in which only meat-free products will be available. We will manipulate the names of meat-free products ("vegetarian" vs "sustainable" names) and the salient social identity (meat-eater vs. sustainable identity). We are interested in the effects on food choice as well as satisfaction and enjoyment ratings. In addition, we will assess effort, the role of habit, and identification after each selection task. |
