Popis:	Mechanistic aspects of the effect of the X and Y substituents (X = Me, H, CF3, CN, Br, Cl, F, OH, NH2; Y = H, NMe2, NH2, CN, NO2) on the carbonyl bond in 4-YC6H4C(O)X compounds are discussed on the basis of the 13C and 17O NMR data.
