Popis: | Two first-order reaction rates are found to be present during the thermal degradation of styrene-polyester copolymer by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) under isothermal conditions, ranging from 200–450°C. IR spectra of the original polymer sample and residues collected at different temperatures and at different times are compared with each other. It has been found that the first rate is largely due to chain scission from weak links and the second rate may be due to chain scission from the cross-linking bonds. |
