Popis: | We thank Viedma et al. for their interesting comments regarding our article [1,2]. As the authors have pointed out in the letter, the application of F-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FFDG-PET/CT) in the monitoring of response to preoperative chemotherapy (PCT) in breast cancer (BC) patients has received increasing interest among researchers in the recent years. However, its application in clinical practice still needs to be clarified, because of heterogeneity of results reported in the literature. This variety appears to be related to different patients’ inclusion criteria, different timings for F-FDG-PET/CT assessment during treatment, different criteria to define normalisation of a lesion uptake after treatment, lack of consent in the definition of pathological response and, most importantly, different threshold values of |
