| Popis: | Across the globe, hospitals take measures to increase patients' level of satisfaction which include better access to improving physician and staff care, having a doctor on call 24/7, decreased racial and ethnic discrimination and inequality among the receivers of care and improved department facilities, among others. However, only few studies have ventured into the relationship between and among patient satisfaction, communication barrier, nurses' communication competence, and nurses' caring behavior. This study aims to develop a model and investigate patient's level of satisfaction and its relationship with communication barrier, nurse's caring behavior and nurse's communication competence. A multi-aspect questionnaire was adapted and was distributed to 284 elderly patients, 270 of which were completed and considered valid. To come up with a final model, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was utilized in conjunction with various descriptive analyses. |
