Popis: | The aim of the present work was to study histaminergic neurons in the rat brain after single doses of alcohol. Experiments were performed on mongrel white male rats (n = 41) using histological, histochemical, morphometric, and electron microscope methods). At 1 h after alcohol at a dose of 4 g/kg, neurons became rounder and their cytoplasm showed decreases in NADH and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activities, along with increases in lactate dehydrogenase, monoamine oxidase B, and acid phosphatase activities; significant ultrastructural changes developed. At 6 h after alcohol, histaminergic neurons showed decreased signs of damage and increased structural-metabolic signs of adaptive changes. |
