Popis: | The microstructure and hardness of electrophoretic chromium carbide coatings on certain structural and tool steel grades have been examined under the initial surface roughness. X-ray spectral studies on the coating and a transition zone have been carried out. It can be shown that the roughness and hardness of chromium carbide coatings are only slightly dependent on the initial steel substrate roughness. It has also been shown that the coating hardness is essentially dependent on the steel chemical composition, and is governed by the solubility and diffusion interchange differences between the coating and the substrate during liquid phase sintering of the coating. |
