Electronic phase separation: Extended mean-field calculations forCuO2layers in high-Tcsuperconductors

Popis: | We examine the stability of spin-polarized cluster states (ferrons) which appear by hole doping of the antiferromagnetically ordered ${\mathrm{CuO}}_{2}$ planes in the high-${\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{c}}$ cuprates. The influence of additional holes is calculated within a self-consistent mean-field-type approximation. The variation procedure for the spin polarization is extended over up to five ${\mathrm{CuO}}_{2}$ plaquettes. Different correlation terms (${\mathit{U}}_{\mathit{p}\mathit{d}}$,${\mathit{U}}_{\mathit{p}}$) affecting the cluster stability are discussed. For all cases the cluster binding energy and the polarization of the Cu spins are calculated. In addition the interaction between different clusters is discussed. |
