Upper limits of passive radar target detection improvement through removal of noise from reference signal

Popis: In the paper the influence of presence of noise in the reference signal on signal processing algorithms of a passive radar is analyzed through a comparison with results for noiseless reference signal. As a result upper limits of improvements resulting from noise removal in terms of cross-ambiguity function computation and clutter cancellation are derived. The obtained maximal achievable benefits from reference signal noise cancellation are analyzed in context of reference signal reconstruction.
