The NASA Lewis Research Center is developing a laser light scattering instrument for microgravity research environments. The system is a joint effort between NASA, ADF Corporation, Titan Spectron, Princeton University, and others. The instrument will first be flown March, 1997 on the space shuttle Microgravity Science Laboratory mission (MSL-1) for the Physics of Hard Spheres Experiment (PHaSE). The project is based on an very aggressive schedule to provide more science return in a shorter timeframe. |
