Popis: | The effect of an external magnetic field on saccharide diffusion in dilute aqueous solution through an inert porous membrane has been observed by means of a bifocal Rayleigh interferometer-laser system. The measurements show that the applied magnetic field, in strengths up to 1.1T, reduces the diffusivity of the following saccharides: sucrose, xylose, maltose, and raffinose, by about 3 to 10% at 25°C |
