Popis: | SummaryThe clinical and pharmacological characteristics of the newer oral contraceptives currently available in the United Kingdom are compared. Clinically there are no significant differences amongst them; all have low pregnancy rates and are acceptable in respect of subjective side effects and bleeding patterns. Significant differences are seen in their pharmacological effects, particularly lipid metabolism. The choice for prescribing among the new low dose oral contraceptives and between them and the older ones is discussed. |
