Popis: | In the present numerical examination, thermal characteristics of a rectangular and elliptical fin are compared. The problem considered is assessed with convective tip in a realistic manner. The basic conservation equations are solved by employing SIMPLE scheme in FLUENT 15.0. The numerical results shown 5% enhancement in heat transfer rate through elliptical fin than that of rectangular fin. Also, the attained numerical results are compared with the analytical values and are found to be in good accordance. Moreover, this study forms a basic paradigm for young researchers to understand the importance of CFD in the field of IC engines. |
