Popis: | The formation constants of the complexes formed between the pyridinium cation and nineteen amines have been determined in anhydrous acetone. An electrochemical cell used a glass electrode as pH sensor. A correlation exists between the base strength of an amine B and its tendency to form heteroconjugated complexes. The relationships between the overall equilibria constants, K0, proton transfer constants, KPT, and formation constants, K(PyHB+), and ΔpKa in acetone are discussed. |
