Magnetic rotational bands in108Sb

Popis: | High-spin states in {sup 108}Sb were populated using the {sup 54}Fe({sup 58}Ni,3pn) reaction at a beam energy of 243 MeV and the subsequent {gamma} decay was studied using the Gammasphere array. A new sequence of magnetic dipole transitions has been observed in addition to a previously known M1 band in {sup 108}Sb. These bands may be interpreted, within the tilted axis cranking model as magnetic rotational bands with {pi}[g{sub 7/2}{sup 2}{circle_times}(g{sub 9/2}){sup {minus}1}] {circle_times}{nu}[h{sub 11/2}] and {pi}[h{sub 11/2}g{sub 7/2}{circle_times}(g{sub 9/2}){sup {minus}1}]{circle_times}{nu}[(g{sub 7/2}d{sub 5/2})] configurations. {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society} |
