Popis: The editors of this textbook have succeeded in their basic aims of providing a textbook of pediatrics that emphasizes diagnosis and treatment and that is not prohibitive in size or in price. They have included much material on common problems, a great deal of practical information, and information concerning important but less common problems. The current edition of this textbook is an improvement over the prior edition, especially with regard to those chapters that have been revised. The major strengths of this textbook include the following: The basic format for each section is in outline form and allows for easy reference. The chapter on ambulatory pediatrics is a superb outline of the operation and functioning of an ambulatory pediatric department. The chapters on immunization, respiratory tract, hematologic disorders, and infections are outstanding. The charts and graphs included are very illustrative and concise and serve as excellent sources of reference. The
