The production practice of class VIII pupils at an industrial enterprise was organized for the first time at boarding school No. 10, Moscow, in the spring of last year. Assessing the general education school's experience in this field and considering that our eighth-graders had already received theoretical training in mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, drawing, and in the school craft-shops had acquired some working skills and abilities, we set for ourselves the objective of securing in the process of production practice: (1) general acquaintance of the pupils with a large-scale machine-building plant, with its engineering, technology and organization of production, and also concrete study of the production process at one of the plant's principal shops; (2) further development and reinforcement of the practical skills and abilities of the school children by means of involving them in the work of a shop group of skilled workers; (3) Solidarity of the collective body of pupils and fostering in th... |
