Popis: The present study examined the effectiveness of a brief intervention that provided knowledge about female condoms, promoted awareness, and allowed open discussions on an individual’s attitude and intent to use the female condom. The Theory of Planned Behavior was used to examine how knowledge, health awareness, and communication may affect an individual’s attitudes and influence her decision to use the female condom. Surveys were administered to 85 African American college students. A paired samples t-test was used to determine the effectiveness of the brief fc2 intervention at increasing knowledge, attitudes, and intentions to use the fc2 among the participants. Findings from the study suggest that providing information and open discussions about female contraception may influence intentions to use female condoms.
