Automatic Signal Clearance System using Density Based Traffic Control

Popis: Traffic control is found to be major challenging task in urban areas. Incorporating technique like image processing in traffic control achieves better results than the existing methods. In the existing traffic control methods green signal is given for a given time period even for an empty road where there is no existence of any vehicles. In order to overcome this traffic congestion, the proposed system named Dynamic Traffic Signal Processing incorporates dynamic traffic prediction and timing scheme using image processing techniques that has self-learning ability. It effectively manages traffic flow even for a huge number of vehicles in the junction. It also develops a system that does not require qualified and mechanical personnel to enhance and preserve the system. The proposed system provides 38% improvement in terms of waiting time when compared with the existing hard coded system. This system also evidences to be adaptive and dynamic as it accounts for change in traffic congestion and could be extended further and used in real-time applications.
