Popis: | In the event of a pole to ground fault, MMC-HVDC converters are subjected to transient overvoltages, which differ significantly from currently used standard test voltages. Investigations to replicate these voltages on a laboratory scale are valuable for circuit simulations, with which gained knowledge can be transferred to applications using higher voltage levels. With this aim, a design procedure for such impulse circuits is presented. Besides this, a model allowing an accurate representation of the obtained laboratory voltages under consideration of the spark gap is presented and implemented in Simulink® Simscape™. Furthermore, the influence of the spark gap arc quenching on the simulation results is investigated. Subsequently, the model is validated on the basis of measurements. |
