Is there still a place for Freire today and in the future? Can his political-educational thought be transferred to the classroom? What happens when Freire’s philosophy meets the students’ reality? This article attempts to outline a possible approach to the heritage of the pedagogue and philosopher of education Paulo Freire, focusing on where, how, with whom and when quality education can take place. Freire’s pedagogical vision and his experience, developed in different contexts around the world, help us to understand that in education it makes no sense to apply set methodologies, but we should accept the limits imposed by the context itself and use them constructively and creatively to make the pedagogical intervention effective.   |
