A scoping review to establish the individual (micro), organisational (meso), and wider social and political (macro) barriers and enablers for long-term care staff when supporting older people living in long-term care settings with mouth care and oral health. We use ‘long-term care’ to refer to a communal living setting which provides long-term 24-hour personal care for people who need this support and may include nursing care. This addresses the varied terms used internationally for these settings. For clarity, our focus is older people living in long-term care and staff employed by the long-term care setting. This scoping review has been funded by a National Institute for Health Research award (NIHR131506). |
