Popis: Hip arthroscopy indications have expanded beyond the treatment of the pathologies associated with femoroacetabular impingement. Other pathologies that are being increasingly treated with hip arthroscopy include borderline hip dysplasia. This chapter defines borderline hip dysplasia, discusses the indications for arthroscopic capsular plication, describes the surgical technique, and summarizes the results of the literature for the arthroscopic treatment of borderline hip dysplasia. Although hip arthroscopy can be successfully used to treat borderline dysplastic hips with a capsular plication technique, outcomes are less predictable compared to outcomes after femoroacetabular impingement surgery. Optimal results appear to occur in a younger population who undergo labral preservation and capsular imbrication.
