Popis: The current study examined thermal oxidation kinetics of LDPE films. The method could be applied to a preliminary evaluation of composites stability in the environment. The treated films were investigated in order to find out how the temperature and degree of oxidation (solely and synergistically) influenced on degree of crystallinity (XRD and DSC methods) and average crystallite size (XRD method) of LDPE films. Two ranges of LDPE films were studied. Samples were exposed to the same temperature range (85°) and the same time periods (50, 100, 200, 300 and 400 hours respectively), but to different atmospheres (argon and oxygen). It was concluded that at first stages of thermooxidation process, the temperature factor influenced predominantly, and then the captured oxygen effected on increased degree of crystallinity and crystallite size.
