Popis: | Lignocellulosic biomass can be pretreated for new biomaterials or for the preparation of intermediate reactant for instance for the production of biofuel. Ionic liquid (IL) is part of the chemical pretreatment method chosen, considered as green solvent, to break the lignocellulosic biomass bond between lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. The pretreated biomaterials can be justified by certain analysis for instance by using Fourier Transform Infrared Response (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for the results of Crystallinity Index (CrI), Lateral Order Index (LOI) and microscopic morphology of the pretreated lignocellulosic biomass, respectively. These analytical methods showed indications of extraction of amorphous regions cellulose from the microfibrils of the lignocellulose biomaterial, aligned with the SEM images of increasing irregularities of cell matrices. Three kinds of experimental setups with the presence of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate [EMIM]Ac were performed on oil palm frond (OPF) with centrifugal pretreatment shaken microtube-reactor (Experiment A), impeller reactor setup (Experiment B) and two stages of irradiation ionic liquid systems (using electron beam irradiation EBI and later direct [EMIM]Ac pretreatment) as Experiment C, resulted in the reductions of CrI and LOI as the pretreatment strategies intensify with certain chosen parameters. An additional CrI index of empty fruit bunch (EFB), oil palm trunk (OPT) and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) were shortly reported. |
