Obstructive sleep apnea and cardiovascular risk markers in community individuals- Results from the sleep apnea and vascular evaluation (SAVE) study

Popis: We sought to determine the prevalence of OSA and its association with a panel of established cardiovascular risk markers in an Asian community. Recruited 320 individuals in health screening program at the National University Heart Centre of Singapore between September 2014 to December 2015. 252 successfully underwent an overnight sleep study. OSA was defined as Apnea-Hypopnea Index ≥15.Fasting blood samples and symptom-limited exercise treadmill test were performed to determine the cardiovascular risk profile.Among 252 patients(mean age:48 years;male:78.2%;sinus rhythm:100%),the prevalence of OSA was 40.1%(n=101).Compared with the non-OSA group, OSA group have higher serum level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)(p
