A prototype of a 19-channel cooled adaptive mirror with magnetostrictive actuators was developed and constructed. An open-porosity cooling system ensured a uniform heat and mass transfer across a heat exchanger. A holographic method for investigating the response functions of the adaptive mirror was tested. The precision of reconstruction of the response functions from a holographic interferogram was considered. An analysis was made of the validity of the theory of a thin plate in estimating the response functions of a real mirror with a complex structure of a flexible reflecting plate. An investigation was made of the dependence of the hysteresis of an adaptive mirror on the static conditions of attaching the actuator to the body of the mirror. The hysteresis was minimized by ensuring that the actuator was completely unloaded in the absence of a control force. |
