Popis: Summary This paper describes the theoretical basis for polarization filters with strong spatial constraints. In essence this means that both the amplitude and polarization properties of the ground roll at any receiver location are estimated using data from that station as well as some of its neighboring stations. This greatly improves the separation of signal and noise, resulting in better preservation of reflected P-wave and S-wave energy in the filtered data.
