Popis:	The telenovela is one of the most successful—and functional—media genres in Latin America today. It owes its roots to Cuba. Until recently, however, relatively little has been written about Cuban telenovelas. This article explores the evolution of Cuban serial drama and its current role in the nation's popular culture.
