The article examines radar nonlinear chirp signals in terms of their ability to detect objects in difficult working conditions (low Signal to Noise Ratio). Several different modulations of the chirp signal were proposed, their properties were compared. The detection capabilities were first tested in the Matlab environment, and then the hardware radar was used for tests to assess the effectiveness of detection. The research shows that for small Signal to noise Ratio values, logarithmic modulation of chirp signal gives better detection results in relation to the linear solution. It seems to be the best choice compare to other nonlinear chirp modulations. |
